Can I lock the WildTop? How secure is it?
Can I lock the WildTop? How secure is it?
WildTop does not offer a lockable option. The panels close with heavy-duty zippers, and the canvas gives full privacy and weather protection, but a soft cap is not a hard, lockable security shell. Many customers fit a lockable storage box inside the truck bed for valuables — the WildTop sits over the top and conceals it neatly from outside.

Is there any extra conditioning required for the WildTop?
Is there any extra conditioning required for the WildTop?
For Nomad & Beast (Canvas): No other additional purchases or products are required to condition the canvas. To maintain the waterproof performance, start by fitting the cap to your truck. Thoroughly wet the canvas with a garden hose (inside and out). Allow the cap to fully dry in the sun. Repeat 2 or 3 times to allow the fabric to settle.
For Scout (PVC): No conditioning is needed. The PVC is inherently stain-resistant—mud and road grime won't soak in. A quick hose-down is all it takes to clean it.
Additional Tips:
• Never scrub the canvas fabric.
• Do not expose to petrol or oil.
• Immediately remove deposits of organic matter (such as soil, grass, bird droppings).
• Remove any mildew by brushing, then treating with diluted chlorine bleach (1 part household grade bleach to 4 parts water). Allow to dry in the sun, then hose well.
• Do not use strong bleach such as 'pool chlorine'.
• Do not use soaps, detergents, solvents, or other liquid cleaners.

Can East-West and North-South Ladder Racks be used at the same time?
Can East-West and North-South Ladder Racks be used at the same time?
It depends on your edition. On the Scout and Nomad, East-West and North-South Rails cannot be used in conjunction with one another; only one set can be used at a time (East-West is standard, North-South is an optional conversion). However, the Beast comes standard with a revolutionary 360-Degree rack system that combines both North-South and East-West configurations into one seamless frame simultaneously.

The distance between the front and rear racks is too large for me to carry what I need. What can I do?
No problem! That's exactly why we developed our North–South Ladder Rack conversion for the Nomad. These run lengthwise from front to back, replacing the standard East–West setup, making it much easier to carry larger items. Alternatively, the WildTop Beast comes standard with a 360-Degree ladder rack that gives you total mounting freedom in every direction.

How does the WildTop attach to my truck — is drilling required?
How does the WildTop attach to my truck — is drilling required?
No holes are drilled into your truck. The WildTop's heavy duty frame fastens to your truck bed using a bracket or clamp system, so your vehicle is left completely unmodified. You will need a power drill to assemble the cap itself — it is used to attach the roof supports to the WildTop frame — but it is never used on your vehicle.

How long does installation take, and how difficult is it?
How long does installation take, and how difficult is it?
Most WildTops take 1–2 hours to install. You will need a power drill, two wrenches, a tape measure and a pencil. It is a straightforward bolt-together job, but it goes faster — and lines up better — with a second person to help hold the frame. Before you start, watch the install video for your specific truck on our YouTube channel, lay out and identify all the hardware, and square the frame carefully before final tightening. If you get stuck, email info@wild-top.com with photos and our team will help.

How do I remove the WildTop when I need my truck bed back?
How do I remove the WildTop when I need my truck bed back?
The WildTop is built to be removed and refitted, and removal takes less than 5 minutes. The mounting brackets stay on the truck; the cap itself unbolts and lifts off — easiest with two people. For everyday bed access you usually do not need to remove the whole cap — just unzip and roll up the side or rear panels (Safari Mode).

Yes — a WildTop is safe through an automatic car wash, provided it is installed correctly and tightly, with the sides down and zips securely fastened. For routine cleaning, rinse with water and a mild soap; never scrub the canvas or expose it to petrol or oil, and remove leaves or other organic matter promptly.
